Warrington started life 2000 years ago when the Romans decided to stop for a smoke on the banks of the River Mersey. Liking what they saw they sat a while ,built a factory to make pots axes and swords then proceeded to kick some ass! Roman artifacts are on show in Warrington Museum.
As are artifacts from the last time Warrington RLFC won something, there is some debate as to which are older.
